The first night of swimming lessons for our 2017 season was a blast! It is fun to see the kids with "Coach" Trent in the pool. He has never referred to himself as "Coach" or asked the kids to call him that, but they do. When I heard young Austin address him that way Tuesday night, I thought how fitting it was. He definitely coaches the kids to be awesome swimmers.
We hear it said all the time, "Now that we have had swim with you, we will never go back to the rec center."
I understand completely. Little Flippers started because Trent was unhappy with the results our kids were getting at the rec center. I suggested he teach the kids himself. He did try, but he was stopped at the community pool and told he couldn't teach his own children because their insurance wouldn't cover it.
After that, we decided to put a pool in ourselves and teach other kids as well. Our youngest three grew up having lessons from their dad in the backyard with the neighborhood kids. As word spread, students from more distant neighborhoods and adjacent cities came.
After 6 years teaching in West Jordan, we felt impressed to uproot ourselves, but didn't want to leave behind the benefits we had from our swim business. We were very grateful to friends and neighbors who spread the word, for past students who made the 35 minute drive to Lehi, and for all those who took from us last year before our landscaping and pool offices were complete. Thanks for coming back!
We are almost finished! The sheet rock is hung in the pool office/bathroom/changing room. The mudding/taping is in process. And within the next couple weeks, painting will be finished and the "construction phase" will be behind us!
Current students will be able to register for session II the last night of class. For new students, registration for Session 2 will begin Memorial Day at 9am and continue through the week until classes fill up or
begin on Thursday, June 1st. Please see our
calendar for additional dates. Placement testing is available after class Tuesday/Thursday or by appointment.
