Gearing up for Registration for Session III

Registration for our final session of the summer is currently underway!  Please see our calendar tab, for class costs and general information, or register and add classes for session III here.

We are loving the pool and now with the addition of the water slide, the kids have a new reward to enjoy at the end of their class session.

We expect our last session of this summer to be busy so register early to ensure you get your desired spot. Registration opens on Monday, August 1st at 9:00 am.  Current students in Session II will be able to register beginning Thursday, July 28th, also at 9:00 am.   If a class fills up that you want, please still add it to your cart.  You will be wait listed and will NOT be charged for the class.  Often, someone is willing to switch to another time, or we have room in Trent's schedule to add an additional class.  On-line registration and payment makes things more convenient in many ways, but it also means that we aren't aware of those whose needs we aren't meeting.  We like to keep things personal - so please, do NOT hesitate to call or email if you encounter any difficulties in the registration process!

Session II begins this week

Session II begins this week with a few changes to the schedule due to numbers.  In West Jordan, July was the busiest month for vacations.  We are finding that this is true here in Lehi as well.  With us being so new and the short time between sessions to get the word out, we have opted to consolidate classes.

Preschool II and Learn to Swim Level I will be combined.  The new class will meet Tuesday/Thursday from 6:30 until 7:15 pm.

Learn to Swim Level II and III are full but we did not have enough additional students to offer a 2nd class.  If our waiting list grows and those on the waiting list are available to attend Tuesday/Thursday, we may still add a second class.  With classes starting tomorrow, we needed to get the word out.

We anticipate a greater need for Level IV and V as our students advance from the lower levels.

Last Week of Session I and Registration for Session II

The month of June has flown by!  We are holding our make-up classes due to our late start with Trent's father passing:  Wednesday, June 29th for Monday/Wednesday classes and Thursday, June 30th for Tuesday/Thursday classes.  Skills Checklists will be handed out at the end of class with a registration code that will allow current students to register prior to registration opening for new students.  This code should only be shared with current students to keep things fair. 

 If all skills are marked as completed, the student should register for the next level.  If they have things still to work on, they should register for the current level they are taking.  Trent is good to answer any questions about his recommendations at the end of each class.

Placement testing for any new students wishing to be considered for Learn to Swim Level II or higher, will be available after class: Wednesday June 29th at 8:15pm and Thursday June 30th at 8:45pm.

A note regarding classes for Session II.  If a class is full, a waiting list is automatically generated.  We have room in the schedule (see the highlighted asterisks on the calendar page ) to add classes as needed.  We try our best to accommodate all students that are interested and timely in their registration.

We are sad to share that Trent's dad, Harold Nolan Hunt, passed away this morning at 10:18am

With the passing of Trent's father, we will be holding a funeral in Lawton, Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 7th.  This will necessitate the delay of starting session I to Wednesday, June 8th for Monday/Wednesday classes and Thursday, June 9th for Tuesday/Thursday classes.  The make-up will be held as posted on the calendar:  Wednesday June 29th for Monday/Wednesday classes and Thursday, June 30th on Tuesday/Thursday classes.

We are so sorry for the delay before we have even begun, but so grateful for your understanding at this time.

Summer Season 2016 Swimming Lessons

Placement Testing/Follow Up

After a great couple days of placement testing, we believe we will need at least two level II classes and may have filled one level III class and be starting a wait list to add the 2nd level III.  If you missed placement testing, it is not too late to get in to session I.  It begins the week of June 6th.  Please feel free to email LittleFlippersSwimAcademy@gmail.com or call or text Valerie at 801-414-9048 and we will do our best to place the student from your description.  Trent may opt to move that student once he sees them in action.

You can complete the registration information at any time (click on the Register tab above) which will get you on the email list to be notified/reminded of class openings, future dates, etc.  You will be able to reserve your spot/pay for classes beginning on Monday, May 30th at 9am. 

To clarify on Preschool Aquatics.  We allow 3 year olds in the class, but due to safety, if they are not able to stand on the bottom and have their mouth clear the water, we ask that a parent or guardian be with them in the pool for safety issues.

We have had parent/tot (birth to 3 years) requested.  Please email us to be added to a list if you are interested in being notified if we offer this class later in the summer.

Registration is Now Available On Line!

The website is now updated with our summer swim lesson calendar and registration is open.  Classes are viewable, but won't open until Monday May 30th, at 9am. 

Free placement testing is being offered Tuesday through Thursday, May 24th - 26th from 6:30pm to 8:00 pm in 15 minute intervals to ensure that our students are placed in a challenging, but safe level and is required for Learn to Swim Level II and above.  Level I and preschool classes do not require placement testing, but families are welcome to schedule a time to come and meet Trent and start to get comfortable in our pool.  You can request a time by email at littleflippersswimacademy@gmail.com or phone at 801-282-5965 for evenings May 24th - 26th.  Placement testing takes about 15 minutes and is done in groups.  For returning students, we recommend you take the class you finished with last summer regardless of whether you passed it or not because a lot can be forgotten in 9-10 months.  If you have had a lot of time swimming or have taken classes elsewhere in the meantime, we recommend you come for placement testing to make sure you remember the required skills to move on to the next level.

Pool Progress

Slowly but surely, we are making progress and now have a date that we will be able to begin placement testing to prepare for our summer swim lessons.  Our schedule is posted on the calendar page.

The registration link will be available early next week.

Placement Testing will be available the evening of May 24th - 26th with our first session beginning the first full week of June.

The deck is being poured and landscaping is starting this week.

We are excited and looking forward to teaching again!

Pool Progress

A lot of progress was made last week with ground breaking Monday, April 4th and pool delivery, Thursday, April 11th.  Now each day they add sand around the perimeter and water it down (of course the rain is doing that for us this week!) and add water inside the pool to the same level to keep it from bowing out.

We are making progress on getting ready for the summer swim lessons 2016 and opening our doors in Lehi Utah.   It has been a busy week with the dig beginning Monday (April 4th)!   Still planning to be ready for our first session in June, 2016!

Little Flippers is Moving to Lehi for summer 2016

As we are finishing session II Thursday 7/9 and Monday 7/13, we have needed to decide about whether we can realistically offer session III.

As much as we are saddened about having less time with our students and friends, we are feeling the pressure of needing to get our present home listed, get moved to our home in Lehi, and to give Trent enough time to work at his 100% commission job.

We have had several say they would drive to Lehi for swim lessons next summer via the Mountain View Corridor.  We realize this may not be feasible for many on a regular basis. 

If you are interested in receiving information from us about lessons in Lehi, please email us at "Littleflippersswimacademy@gmail.com.  Because the website charges us by the student, we will need to delete records of any students not moving with us to Lehi.

We would appreciate you spreading the word about us in our new location off of 1500 East and 1200 North in Lehi.

We have just added a new class Monday/Wednesday at 5:30pm for Parents and tots age 3 years or younger.
