Placement Testing/Follow Up

After a great couple days of placement testing, we believe we will need at least two level II classes and may have filled one level III class and be starting a wait list to add the 2nd level III.  If you missed placement testing, it is not too late to get in to session I.  It begins the week of June 6th.  Please feel free to email LittleFlippersSwimAcademy@gmail.com or call or text Valerie at 801-414-9048 and we will do our best to place the student from your description.  Trent may opt to move that student once he sees them in action.

You can complete the registration information at any time (click on the Register tab above) which will get you on the email list to be notified/reminded of class openings, future dates, etc.  You will be able to reserve your spot/pay for classes beginning on Monday, May 30th at 9am. 

To clarify on Preschool Aquatics.  We allow 3 year olds in the class, but due to safety, if they are not able to stand on the bottom and have their mouth clear the water, we ask that a parent or guardian be with them in the pool for safety issues.

We have had parent/tot (birth to 3 years) requested.  Please email us to be added to a list if you are interested in being notified if we offer this class later in the summer.

Registration is Now Available On Line!

The website is now updated with our summer swim lesson calendar and registration is open.  Classes are viewable, but won't open until Monday May 30th, at 9am. 

Free placement testing is being offered Tuesday through Thursday, May 24th - 26th from 6:30pm to 8:00 pm in 15 minute intervals to ensure that our students are placed in a challenging, but safe level and is required for Learn to Swim Level II and above.  Level I and preschool classes do not require placement testing, but families are welcome to schedule a time to come and meet Trent and start to get comfortable in our pool.  You can request a time by email at littleflippersswimacademy@gmail.com or phone at 801-282-5965 for evenings May 24th - 26th.  Placement testing takes about 15 minutes and is done in groups.  For returning students, we recommend you take the class you finished with last summer regardless of whether you passed it or not because a lot can be forgotten in 9-10 months.  If you have had a lot of time swimming or have taken classes elsewhere in the meantime, we recommend you come for placement testing to make sure you remember the required skills to move on to the next level.

Pool Progress

Slowly but surely, we are making progress and now have a date that we will be able to begin placement testing to prepare for our summer swim lessons.  Our schedule is posted on the calendar page.

The registration link will be available early next week.

Placement Testing will be available the evening of May 24th - 26th with our first session beginning the first full week of June.

The deck is being poured and landscaping is starting this week.

We are excited and looking forward to teaching again!

Pool Progress

A lot of progress was made last week with ground breaking Monday, April 4th and pool delivery, Thursday, April 11th.  Now each day they add sand around the perimeter and water it down (of course the rain is doing that for us this week!) and add water inside the pool to the same level to keep it from bowing out.

We are making progress on getting ready for the summer swim lessons 2016 and opening our doors in Lehi Utah.   It has been a busy week with the dig beginning Monday (April 4th)!   Still planning to be ready for our first session in June, 2016!

Little Flippers is Moving to Lehi for summer 2016

As we are finishing session II Thursday 7/9 and Monday 7/13, we have needed to decide about whether we can realistically offer session III.

As much as we are saddened about having less time with our students and friends, we are feeling the pressure of needing to get our present home listed, get moved to our home in Lehi, and to give Trent enough time to work at his 100% commission job.

We have had several say they would drive to Lehi for swim lessons next summer via the Mountain View Corridor.  We realize this may not be feasible for many on a regular basis. 

If you are interested in receiving information from us about lessons in Lehi, please email us at "Littleflippersswimacademy@gmail.com.  Because the website charges us by the student, we will need to delete records of any students not moving with us to Lehi.

We would appreciate you spreading the word about us in our new location off of 1500 East and 1200 North in Lehi.

We have just added a new class Monday/Wednesday at 5:30pm for Parents and tots age 3 years or younger.

Please spread the word.  We need at least 5 students to offer the class.

Placement Testing Continues

One of the things that sets Little Flippers apart from other Swim Schools is that we offer free placement testing.  We feel it is imperative that our students are in a class that is the perfect balance between not too easy and not to challenging.  If a child feels insecure in the water, it can set him or her back.  We encourage all new and returning students who have not had lessons for 9 months or more to take advantage of this service.  It only takes 15 minutes and the result is that your child is placed in the best spot for him or her to work with the other students in the same class.

Trent is continuing to do placement testing.  Tuesday, April 28th at 8pm.

Happy Registration Day!

Classes are now available for you to choose with on-line payment by credit card.

If you haven't made it by for placement testing, there's still time.  No appointment necessary.  Just drop by between 6:30pm and 7:45pm.  Trent will do testing in groups in order of arrival.

We will be checking classes throughout the days ahead.  If there are not enough spots for your student, you will be put on a waiting list.  If you are able to take the Tuesday/Thursday Level II or III class, please do so as I have more families wanting the Monday/Wednesday spots due to church conflicts.

Announcing our 2015 Swim Season and On-Line Registration!

Session I will begin in May with placement testing available April 20th through 22nd.  Classes will be available to add on Monday, April 27th.

It is recommended that you register on-line ahead of time at this link:  https://app.thestudiodirector.com/littleflippersswimacad/portal.sd

You will then be able to add classes when they are available (April 27th) and after you have determined the proper class through free placement testing or received approval from Trent (for returning students only).

Included in  your Registration, your student will be registered with the Red-Cross as he or she completes each level.  The Red-Cross has made some exciting changes for 2015 including updated skills checklist cards, safety video, and a downloadable app that can help parents follow their students progress.  We will keep you informed as we learn more.

We anticipate offering our first session for 2015 in May now that the pool is enclosed.
